For the longest time, I just came across this phrase, “Netflix and Chill” but never paid heed to it. Until they started rolling out some amazing content. The NETFLIX ORIGINALS are a thing and anyone who does not have a subscription yet, feels sort of left out or they just act nonchalant and say, there are better things – like Amazon PrimeVideo/ Hotstar? Well, those are definitely much cheaper compared to Netflix
I won’t side with Netflix, I do watch PrimeVideo often for the movies (Just started Mirzapur and it’s addictive), Hotstar for Koffee (with KJO). But when it comes to the Series and their original shows, Netflix it is, my friend.
“So, what are you watching these days?” is the new “What’s up?”
I just finished Little Things. I saw a few people posting stories on Instagram (while they watched) about how adorable this show was. My mom told me the same. There are two seasons, the first came in 2016 and the second came out this year. I just saw both the seasons back to back.
This show is like that sweet, funny, slice-of-life kind of romantic novel that you cannot put down till the end. It’s not easy to turn it off. If it was a book, it would be a bestseller too. When the show ended (last night for me), I was teary. No, the ending was not sad or anything, in fact, it was perfect – the way they accept the beauty of imperfection. They? Kavya and Dhruv. Little Things is about the life of Kavya and Dhruv, a young couple (more like buddies, I loved their relationship) who live together in Mumbai. Nah they are not married. It’s very 2018. It’s relatable, it’s adorable and it’s inspiring in some ways. Well, I got inspired to be a better partner after the show finished! And that’s a big deal alright :p
I don’t want to talk too much about the show/story – it’s fun when you watch it and relate to so many things that Dhruv and Kavya say and do. Dhruv (played by Dhruv Sehgal) is your boy next door, a funny one at that. He has some simple fundas in life, small joys and basic expectations that a boy has from his girl. Kavya,(Mithila Palkar) is this quirky, super cute, ambitious, modern-day girl, who lives with her boyfriend in Mumbai, away from home and is totally comfortable in her world.
Little Things is about the little things that make our lives big. The little things that we do for each other, that make a big difference to us, that brings us closer. The little things that sometimes we end up saying to each other that hurt us and distance us…
The little things that we learn as we go along. The little things that matter the most. Because, in the end, it’s all about love, peace, and contentment.
I would love to watch more of Dhruv Sehgal and Mithila Palkar. They are brilliant actors and 2 seasons are just not enough 😀
