Arth

I love coming-of-age films, just finished watching this movie called Arth, a 1982 semi-autobiographical drama by Mahesh Bhatt. I just loved Shabana Azmi, glad she won a national award back then in 1983 for this movie. And what a beautiful soundtrack by Jagjit and Chitra Singh. Ageless, timeless classic. You could definitely watch it if you haven’t and if you love Hindi cinema and actors like Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. *big thumbs up* – the story is still quite relevant.

Smita Patil’s portrayal of a paranoid schizophrenic (based on Parveen Babi) is intense – she won a filmfare. Sad that she died so soon, just at the age of 31..

Anyway, I have not worked out at all this week, some sort of exhaustion has creeped up on me so I am not pushing myself at the moment. Sometimes it’s essential to hit the pause button. Life is not a race – walk at your own comfortable pace. You are exactly where you are meant to be. For now, I am watching movies and hugging my sweetheart.
